What data is collected and why #
Analytics — Matomo #
This site uses Matomo, an open-source analytics platform hosted on our own server. Matomo is configured in cookieless mode, which means:
- No cookies are set on your device
- Your IP address is anonymised (the last two octets are masked before storage)
- No personal data is transferred to third parties
- No cross-site tracking occurs
The data collected (approximate geographic region, browser type, pages visited, referrer) is used solely to understand how content is read and to improve the site. Because no cookies are used and no personal data is stored, this processing does not require your consent under the GDPR.
Comments — Talkyard #
If you choose to leave a comment, the comment system is provided by Talkyard (Debiki AB, Sweden). Talkyard sets session cookies necessary for authentication and anti-spam protection. These cookies are only placed after you give consent via the banner shown on the site.
When you post a comment, Talkyard processes:
- Your display name and email address (if you register or log in)
- The content of your comment
- Your IP address (for spam prevention)
